In 2018, full-service contract and domestic cleaning company CCM branched into the catering arena with the acquisition of MacBerry Food Solutions, a catering company servicing corporate clients with a bespoke menu offering.
After 3 years in the business, MacBerry is undergoing a rebrand with a new look and feel as well as logo and name, ‘Zest Food Services’.
CCM’s MD, Marc Du Chenne explains that the rebrand has been on the cards since the company first acquired MacBerry. “MacBerry was our first foray into catering, falling within our Facilities Management Division and offering clients and potential clients the option to outsource their restaurants and canteens to us. It has been very rewarding to see the division grow and gain traction. As such, we took the decision to launch Zest, which will operate as a standalone company, independent of CCM,” he reveals. That said, Zest’s name and logo show its close synergy with CCM.
The name Zest was selected because it evokes impressions of food bursting with fresh ingredients, flavour, health, and well-being which will be Zest’s positioning in the market. “We pride ourselves on providing a catering offering that is seasonal, using simple, fresh ingredients and creating enough with little wastage,” Du Chenne informs.
With more and more people becoming healthier and conscious of the food they put into their bodies, Zest’s hallmark will be the production of menus that are tailor-made for clients and their employees with a special focus on health and wellness, allowing them to eat as well as they do at home while they are at work.
The brand services clients in various market segments, from admin to blue collar. Rebranding of these sites, including new uniforms for staff members, is currently taking place.
“When clients think of Zest, we hope to bring to mind the same clean, fresh, and natural qualities synonymous with CCM,” says Du Chenne.
